With the month of July just beginning, it already looks like its going to be a busy month of traveling. School being out for summertime and both my son and wife having pretty much the summer off means that we will have a little more freedom of getting out and do some traveling.
Starting with the 4th of July weekend, this will be the first time in 25 years that we have not planned a 4th of July party in our backyard. Me being on reserve or on call for flying this year starting on the 4th, and having to be available for the next six days and with my seniority it is a good bet that I am going to have to fly. So the decision was made not to have a July 4th party this year and take the chance of having to fly out, if I end up not flying then it would be a spur of the moment party with a few friends, nowhere near the 150 or so people we have had in past years.
On the schedule for traveling in July, other than the normal flying that I will have to do, we already have a driving trip scheduled to Tallahassee for my daughters orientation for the fall session at Florida State University (FSU).
A trip of a couple of days is planned for Cost Rica, where we are headed I am not sure, yet the trip will be planned as we near the travel dates or might just be a spur of the moment trip, that’s usually how I plan these trips, what interests me at the moment or I read about some place that sounds interesting will often determine where we are headed.
My daughter is planning a trip with her aunts to Southern California and with her work schedule, so going off on her own she won’t be traveling with us to Costa Rica this year.
It will be interesting at the end of July to see where I have flown and what trips I was able to get in, all I know now is that it looks like a busy month ahead, just the way I like it.
